From Playbill.com: After a stormy couple of months, James Houghton resigns as Artistic Director of The O'Neill Theatre Centre, seedbed of new American plays. He says it's because his board wasn't being straight with him, but, frankly, if every artistic director whose board didn't tell him everything were to resign, there'd be a lot of directorless theatres out there. We suspect it has more to do with the negative reaction to his revamp of the O'Neill's submission policy.
