Bob Seger Tickets - Double-CD Set to be Released

It's a great time to be a Bob Seger fan. Not only are Bob Seger Tickets selling fast for his current, wide-spanning tour, but the artist has a lot to offer his fans looking to get some music to play at home, as well. According to a recent Rolling Stone article, Seger is going to be releasing a two-CD retrospective set that will span his entire career. All this comes, RS reports, after Seger waved off such notions in April, when he said that a retrospective didn't "seem right to me."

RS notes that the whole set drops Nov. 21 and is going to be called Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets, which is a pretty apt title considering that Seger himself appears to be a fairly unforgettable legend in his field. There are 26 tracks total, and RS lays out some of the hits you can expect: "Old Time Rock And Roll," "We've Got Tonight," "Travelin' Man," "Beautiful Loser," "Wait For Me," "Downtown Train." It runs the gamut of classics and fan faves to some more recent material that might not have found it's audience yet. Overall, it's a great selection of music from one of rock's biggest heroes.

Rolling Stone notes that Seger seemed very against the idea of doing a greatest hits record in April, but he apparently changed his mind - and frankly, we have to say we're happy about it. There are plenty of fans out there who would be delighted to have a single set that fills all their need for Seger's music, and it will be a great introduction for those music fans who don't know the man's work beyond his best-known hits. It's sure to be a big stocking stuffer for classic rock fans come this Christmas.

Of course, that won't stop their craving for more music. Rolling Stone also adds that Seger told them in April he had about half of a new record done. "If the songwriting gods smile on me, it will be all new material," he said at the time. "If they don't, it will be a mixture of what I've got now and and the best of the old [unreleased tracks.] It'll put out whatever the best songs are, new or old."

Needless to say, that's some exciting news. But sadly, Rolling Stone doesn't have an update on what the status of that record is. Ah, well. It looks like Seger will keep us waiting for some things.

What he will not keep us waiting for is new concerts. Along with the Silver Bullet Band, Seger is crossing the country with his great songs and hitting up some of the biggest venues in a number of cities. He heads up the East Coast through early November and plays Madison Square Garden on December 1, so make sure you catch him if you're in New York at the time. Check out the rest of his touring schedule to see all the concert dates that are planned for him in the near future.
